NICU Esther Basket Project
Why Do We Do This?
Nearly half a million babies in the US are born prematurely. Pre-term births can result in low birth weights, breathing troubles, heart problems, or birth complications that need special care. On average, babies spend 13.2 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). In line with our mission, WoMen of Connections wants to offer encouragement to NICU families by providing 350 baby shower baskets with essentials for the baby and gift bags with cards of encouragement to the mothers.
According to Nurse.org, neonatal nurses work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends. As healthcare professionals are an integral part of our community, we also want to supply them with encouragement baskets.

How you can help us
Our goal for the year of 2025 is to be able to provide baskets to over 300 families across 12 hospitals with NICU wards in Virginia. Your donation of $60 will bless the baby and their mother in the NICU this Easter.
